On the 11th and 12th of October 2025 our Secretary Vicki Powell took part in the Run Archery European Cup representing Great Britain. There were 16 countries taking part in the event in Paris over the weekend.
Over the 2 days Vicki did incredibly well, with this being her first time competing internationally and also in a different country. Vicki came 30th in the Women's Sprint, 33rd in the Women's 4k race and she finished 8th in the Women's Team Sprint and 19th in the Mixed Team Sprint.
We're so very proud of Vicki for representing Great Britain and our club.
On the 27th and 28th September our safeguarding officer Mark Ollerenshaw shot at the National County shot shooting for the Lancashire team. On day 1 he finished with a score of 664 in the individual qualifiers and finished with a score of 1957 in the team qualifiers. Day 1 ended with Mark and the team finishing 9th for the day.
On day 2 Mark started the day by getting 668 in the individual qualifiers then in the mixed Mark and he team mate finished with a score of 1352. at the end of the day with Mark's score and the others in the Lancashire team they finished in 3rd place earning them a well deserved bronze medal.
Massive congrats to everyone in the Lancashire team.
On the 13th September our safeguarding officer Mark Ollerenshaw shot at the The Worshipful Company of Fletchers Disability Championships he started the day finishing second with a score of 649 in the qualifiers. He then got to the finals and shooting for bronze unfortunately missing out by 2 points.
Massive congrats to Mark for shooting through the weather as it was a very indecisive day.
Big congratulations to Mark and Barrie who attended Goldcrest Archers WA18 competition on the 12th January. Mark and Barrie had a wonderful shooting with all the other archers. Mark finished 3rd in the gent compound shoot with a brilliant score of 548. Barrie finished 6th in the gents barebow with a cracking score of 384. It was a pleasure shooting with the archers from Goldcrest hopefully we have more shoots to come.
We would like to give a massive congrats to Danny Powell and Barrie Massey for competing in the National Indoor Championships on Saturday 6th December. Danny finished 129th in the male recurve with a score of 438 at the end of the 20 ends. Barrie finished 66th in the male barebow with a score of 332 at the end of the 20 ends.
We are currently not accepting new members or running any beginner's courses.
